Create a Weekly Calendar Report with the Book of Destiny 3.0

 

 

When you have selected Weekly Calendar Pages from the Report Menu of the Main Screen, you will encounter the screen above. This is where you specify exactly what you want

 

1. Choose Two Cards to use for the Calendar Page(s)

 

The weekly calendars require that you select two personal significators to report on. We suggest the Birth and Planetary Ruling Cards but you can select any two that you like.

 

 

2. Select the Beginning Date and How Many Weeks you want to create

 

The Beginning date given is the date of the start of the current week. You can go backwards or forwards as many weeks as you like to set the beginning date of the report. Then, you can decide how many weeks you would like to print at one time. The default is one and you can do up to 100 weeks at a time.

 

3. How do you want to OutPut the report?

 

This section controls where you want this report to go. Printer means to your printer. Emailed will first create a PDF file and then allow you to email that to someone. PDF File just creates the PDF file without emailing it.

 

When you select Printer, you will go to a Report Output Options Screen that gives you the option of Previewing the Report or of just Printing it. If you select it, this is what you will see:

Notice that the default setting is Preview. This is set intentionally so that you will be reminded that you can look at your report before you print it, if you like. If you just want to print it to the Selected Printer, just click on the Printer box and then click on OK. To Preview the report before printing, just select Preview and then OK. I am not going to show the preview screen here but I would like to mention that in the preview screen, you can still print your report after you have looked it over. The Preview Screen also allows you to resize the screen or zoom in or out so you can really get a good look at what you are going to print.

 

4. Creating an Emailed Report

 

Creating an Emailed Report is composed of several steps after you have done all the selecting detailed above.

1. First, you must set up your Email Sever Information settings. This screen will come up whenever you have an email report to do if you have not already completed it before. If you have completed it, you will not have to do it each time.

Some of these fields are absolutely essential if you want to send reports via email. I suggest that you fill out all of them. If you do not know what your email server settings are, look into the Preferences, Options or Settings of your current email program. Most SMTP servers do not require Authentication. I would suggest that you try it without it first and then, if you have a problem, go ahead and set it up for Authentication. Authentication requires the Username and Password fields to be filled in along with the Use Authentication checkbox to be checked. Definitely make sure your SMTP Server information is filled in, along with Your Name and Your Email address.

 

2. Next, you will be presented with the Send Email screen.

 

You may notice that some of the fields are already filled in for you and some require your attention. You can even change the fields here, if you don't like what is on here. For example, you can change the Subject, From, etc. The Body of Message can be personalized with your customer's name, if you like. The body of message is a Rich Text memo. This means that it can have different fonts and colors to it. By changing it to what you want and clicking on the Save button, you can create a new default message. This button will also save any changes to the Subject field. Likewise, the Load button will load up your default message and subject.

 

What you need to do here is make any changes you want to make to the Subject and Body of Message fields and then click on the To: field to select someone to send this report to. Clicking on the To: field will take you to your Client and Database Management form. Here you can select anyone on your list. And, if their email address has already been entered into that form, it will automatically be entered into this form when you return.

 

Once you are complete, click on the OK button to send your report. If all has proceeded well, the report will be generated and translated into a PDF file. This process may take a while, especially if you are doing a 35 page Complete Yearly Report. Please be patient. When it is complete, a new program called Emailer is started. It should look like this:

 

Emailer is a separate program. The benefits of this are that your Book of Destiny program is not held up while sending an email report. For this reason, you might want to move this form to the side of your screen before clicking on the Send Report button. Once you click on this button, the process will start. IMPORTANT: You must be online before you try to send this report. If are not online, your computer will probably lock up and have to be rebooted. Also, it is important to know that a Complete Yearly Report is about 3 /12 megs in size. This could take up to five minutes to send with a fast (cable modem or similar) connection or as long as a half an hour with a 56K modem. Once it is started you cannot stop it. It is a separate program and will not interfere with your Book of Destiny program once it has began sending. It may seem to just sit there and hang up, but it is actually sending your report.

5. How to Cancel an Email Report once it has started

 

 

The Emailer program has a Cancel Report button that allows you to cancel an emailed report after it has been sent (while in progress). Just click it. If you are successful, you should see the message below.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

6. Creating an PDF file Report

 

There are times when you may want to just create the PDF file and either send it via your regular email program or put it on a CD-Rom and send it to someone. Since CDs only cost about .30 nowadays, this is a very easy way to send a report. To do this, just select PDF File from the Output section and click Run Report. You will encounter the following screen:

 

The nice thing about this screen is that it allows you to both change the name of the PDF file that will be created and it allows you to decide exactly where you want to have it saved. That way, you know where to find it when you want to copy it, email it or make a CD-ROM with it on it.

 

Notes:

 

Each time you create a PDF report or email a report, a PDF file is created. These are often 3-4 megabytes in size each. You might want to go into your Book of Destiny folder from time to time and delete these PDF files that have accumulated.
