What Clubs Don't Know

From a person who is all Diamond, I look at the Clubs people I meet and have to wonder sometimes. When I say I am all Diamond, what I am referring to is that my Birth Card, Planetary Ruling Card and both Karma Cards are all Diamonds. I watch Clubs people with amazement and amusement, and sometimes with compassion because they are often stuck in a world that is nothing more than words. When we look at the four suits we see their basic and innate qualities and characteristics.

Hearts - feelings, emotions
Clubs - thoughts, communications
Diamonds - desires, values
Spades - will, work ethics

Each suit has its positive and wonderful side and its weaknesses that are inherent in its focus on a single area of the human experience spectrum. I will talk about the Clubs here and perhaps in later articles the other suits.

To Clubs people, the word is as good as the thing itself. They are born knowing that our words are powerful, that everything created in lofe stems from our thoughts and our speech. They love words and find reasons for everything in life. A Club person without a reason for something is an unhappy person. They seek to know 'why' more than anything else. Once they know, they can relax, now everything in their world makes sense again. Everything has a label and a box that it fits in. Everything fits together in a somewhat logical sense. And every detail matters to them. It is through details that they are able to formulate the reasons for things that make sense in the real world. They are fact finders in this regard. A Club seeks to understand his or her world through a 'concepts-first' approach. They develop a concept about something and then set about proving or disproving it through experience. For many of the above reasons, Clubs excel at detail work and other work such as being a lawyer, accountant, writer, teacher, secretary, doctor and others. A Club who has mastered his or her world is one who has found reasons for everything that fit together nicely. This person is now secure in his or her understanding of life.

But Clubs can take their words, and the words of others, much too seriously. They can become bound to a concept (a common fault of 8 of Clubs people) so strongly that they miss the real point. If their analysis of a certain area of life is faulty, which it often is in the area of relationships for example, their concepts and conclusions can actually prevent them from experiencing happiness. Clubs often focus so much on their mind and its mechanizations that they forget to pay attention to their feelings. And without the knowledge of their own feelings, their analysis of events is missing the most vital information. This is like feeding a computer misinformation and asking it to come up with a good answer. It just won't work. A Club person would be wise to make it a habit to examine all their fiercely held concepts as to their validity. Beliefs, especially, should be scrutinized for their meaningfulness. Ones that were helpful earlier in their lives may actually be holding them back now. Some Clubs people are very psychic. They get information from a high source that can guide them and others in meaningful ways. But that information again is subject to their interpretation filters which are often dirty with mis-analysis for the same reasons mentioned earlier. Even the most psychic people are often very distant from their own feelings. And again, it is often our feelings that really tell us the truth about what is going on or what the importance of a certain experience is or was. In order to promote more feeling content in their lives it is helpful for Clubs to do things physical, such as exercise, yoga, Tai-Chi, etc. Yoga, especially, if done correctly can slow down the active mind and allow for a reconnection to the body and its feelings with the mind of an individual. It draws the attention to the feelings like no other exercise.

But what Clubs people really don't know and the thing that possibly baffles them the most is that reasons are relative and are not the real truth of anything. What the Diamond person knows instinctively is that we can create reasons to justify whatever we want. And we Diamonds don't need a reason to make something okay or not. There is life beyond reasons and it is the world of values. From a Diamonds point of view, one can look at the Clubs and see them full of reasons that may or may not have any real importance. A Diamond does things without reasons. The only reason they need is a desire to have or have not. In a powerful workshop I attended 10 years ago, the leader brought someone up on stage and offered them two ice cream cones, one vanilla and one chocolate. Then he said, "Choose one." The person picked chocolate and the leader said "Why chocolate?" And the person made up a reason for why he or she picked chocolate. Then the leader repeated the same thing again with the same person. Again, the person picked a reason for choosing chocolate but after a few times the reasons began to differ. After a while there must have been 10 or more different reasons, all from the same person as to why they chose chocolate. It became obvious that the reasons had nothing to do with the choice itself, they were merely tacked on at the end of the choice. Its almost like we create reasons on the fly so that we can discuss what we do. The 'whys' that Clubs yearn for may only be information they create in order to have a conversation about it. And Clubs love conversation. Its the choice that makes a difference, not the reason for it.

That's why I laugh when I watch sports talk and sports commentary. As if any of that talk after the fact makes any difference to the game itself. Now, the coach, who talks directly to the players, his talk makes a difference. But all the analysis and banter after the fact mean nothing.

With every gift comes a responsibility. With the gift of analysis that all Clubs are born with comes the responsibility to base that analysis on facts, not fiction, and to gather the most relevant and important facts. Also, all the facts should be in before drawing conclusions. And principles that we live by should be re-examined periodically to make sure that they encompass the most broad and loving approach to life. How many wars have been waged on religious principles, for example? And finally, Clubs need to know themselves well enough to know their own motivations in their fact and fault-finding. And they need to know that the word is not really the thing. Sure, the word creates, but descriptions of things are not the things themselves. If you think they are, try eating a menu to appease your hunger sometime. The finest distinction that a Club person may ever make could be the distinction between their words and the things they represent. The things are always more important, what happens is always more important, than the descriptions of these.
