What's Your Card?
by Robert Lee Camp
How many people have ever stopped to wonder about our deck
of common playing cards? There are many card-reading systems and books out
there but how many know the one and original system, that system for which
the cards were devised in the first place? And finally, how many would guess
that this common deck of cards actually holds a record of our entire life,
much like the fabled 'Book of Destiny' spoken of in many cultures? Let me
just give you an inkling of what is involved here.
Take a deck of cards and relate the numbers to our modern
day calendar. There are 52 cards and 52 weeks, 13 cards in each suit and
13 new moons each year, as well as 13 weeks in each season of the year, represented
in the deck by the four suits. But the most amazing connection occurs when
we add up the numbers on each card in the deck. In doing this, we ascribe
1 to the Ace, 2 to the two and so forth. The Jacks are 11, Queens 12 and
Kings, 13. The entire deck added together equals 364. With the addition of
the Joker, we get exactly the number of days in the year.
The cards were originally devised as a calendar system
and not just any calendar system, the calendar for earth and earth alone.
Its cards, suits and numbers represent the cycles that govern our lives.
And by knowing the inner workings of this deck, as taught by the ancient
priests of the Magi, one can reveal anyone's unique destiny, along with a
whole lot more.
Though most people are yet to become aware of it, this
Science of the Cards is a fascinating and highly accurate system of self-understanding
that supposedly originated in Atlantis. I was personally introduced to this
method about 10 years ago when a friend handed me a old book and said "Here,
look up your card and see what this book has to say about you." I was struck
by that book and its very accurate and personal description of my life. At
that point in my life I was already an astrologer and what struck me even
more was the fact that 9 birthdays had the same card as mine. And yet, the
description it offered was undoubtedly accurate and meaningful. That got
me started on a quest for more information about this system and eventually
to writing several books about it. To this day most everyone who is exposed
to it says it is the most uncannily accurate system they have ever discovered.
I have used it consistently now for over ten years and it has never been
off. It continues to amaze me.
This system is very much like astrology but with the added
benefit that it doesn't require a time of day or place. Just the month, day
and year and it has a lot to tell us. It has astrological elements to it,
however. For example, the year of 365 days is divided into seven periods,
each 52 days long, and named for one of the planets. Your first period of
the year, Mercury, begins on your birthday, followed 52 days later by your
Venus period and so on. Each period is governed by its planet and so has
a distinctively different quality to it. For example, the Venus period is
one in which we usually focus a lot of our attention on home, family and
personal relationships.
As a little taste of this system, below is all you
need to derive a little information about your Birth Card. Follow the instructions
carefully to calculate your card and then read the meanings of its suit and
number.
Calculate Your Birth Card
-
Take the number of your month of birth and multiply it by 2. For example,
if you are born in November, you would take 11 times 2 equals 22.
-
Now add that number to the number of the day of the month you were born.
If you were born on 11/7 for example, you would take 22 and then add that
to 7 to get 29.
-
Now subtract that total from 55. That will give you the solar value of
your Birth Card and below you can look up your Birth Card from the table.
Now you know your Birth Card you can learn a little about
yourself from the descriptions below. If you want to investigate this system
more, check out our two main books, Destiny Cards and Love Cards,
available in most bookstores. Every person studying astrology should take
